| Arsenalplatz is a gaping hole in the historic core of Wittenberg, a UNESCO heritage site that is now contaminated ground left by the demolition of Russian military facilities in the 1990s. The proposal involves the careful insertion of much needed modern shopping facilities into an historic urban structure, the establishment of a coherent retail circuit and the creation of a major new public space for the city.
